Who we are

Unsent is operated by Mercer Unlimited, Inc., an Ohio corporation doing business as Unspoken Tools (“Unspoken Tools,” “we,” or “us”). This policy describes what personal information we collect when you use Unsent, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. The Service is intended for users in the United States.

Our approach

What you share with Unsent is private. We do not sell your information. We do not run advertising. We do not use your content to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model, not ours, and not our providers’. We require the AI providers we use to process your content solely to produce the output you requested and not to retain it for any training purpose. The information you provide is used to give you the guidance you asked for, and for the limited purposes described below.

What we collect

  • Account information. The email address you provide to create your workspace, and any identifiers issued by our authentication provider. Your password is set and stored by our authentication provider; we do not see it.
  • Intake and session content. The answers you give during intake, any drafts or messages you write in the Service, and the guidance generated for you. This content can include details about your family situation and the people involved.
  • Payment information. When you purchase, our payment processor (Stripe) collects payment details on our behalf. We receive confirmation of the purchase and a customer identifier. We do not receive or store your card number.
  • Usage information. Basic technical data such as pages viewed, timestamps, and device type, used to keep the Service reliable and to understand aggregate usage.

Information about other people

To get useful guidance, you may share information about other people, such as your child or a co-parent. We process that information only as part of providing the Service to you, and we handle it under this policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share information about others. If someone believes their information has been shared with us and wants it removed, they or you can contact us and we will address the request.

How we use it

  • To generate the guidance you requested.
  • To keep your workspace secure and let you sign in and recover access.
  • To process payments and provide receipts.
  • To respond to support requests and improve the Service.
  • To send you account-related messages and, if you opt in, occasional updates.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us operate Unsent, under contracts that limit their use of the information to providing services to us. These include:

  • Authentication (Clerk). Sign-in, password management, and account management.
  • Database and hosting (Neon, Vercel, Railway). Secure storage and hosting of the Service.
  • AI guidance (Anthropic). Processes your intake and drafts only to generate the guidance you requested. Anthropic is contractually prohibited from using your content to train any AI model, whether public or private. Content is retained only briefly for routine abuse monitoring and then deleted.
  • Payments (Stripe). Purchases and billing.
  • Email (Resend). Transactional messages such as sign-in codes, links, and receipts.
  • Customer messaging (GoHighLevel). Your email address and basic account status, used to send service and, if you opt in, marketing messages. Not used for advertising to third parties.

We may also disclose information if we are required to by law, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of any person. If we ever add new categories of providers, such as a text-message provider, we will update this list.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the Service, such as those that keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser, but disabling essential cookies may prevent sign-in from working.

How long we keep it

We retain your information for as long as your workspace is active and as needed to provide the Service. If you request deletion, or after a long period of inactivity, we will delete or anonymize your information, except where we are required to retain it (for example, to comply with tax or accounting obligations).

Your choices

  • Access and correction. You can view and update much of your information from inside your workspace, or by contacting us.
  • Deletion. You can request deletion of your workspace and associated content at any time by contacting us.
  • Export. You can request a copy of the information you have provided.
  • Email preferences. You can opt out of non-essential email at any time using the unsubscribe link in any such message.

Your U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on where you live, state privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act may give you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request a copy of it, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California and other state privacy laws. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@thingsunspoken.com. We will verify your request using your account email and respond as required by law.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly allow children to create an account or knowingly collect personal information from a child as a user. Information an adult chooses to share about their own child, in order to receive guidance, is handled as described in “Information about other people” above. If you believe a child has created an account or provided us with information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

Where we operate

Unsent is operated from the United States and is intended for users in the United States. Your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. For material changes we will provide additional notice, such as by email.
